I'm sure everyone is watching on the news the horrible tragedy of the fires taking place down in southern California right now. As most of you know that is where Dan is from (Poway) and almost his entire family is still living there. His Mom, Dad, and his brother each live in different cities but all of them have been affected and were mandatorily evacuated from their homes yesterday. We just got news though not too long ago that Dan's Mom's house seems to be safe for the time being and they are able to go back to it so that is a huge relief. But we still have no idea of the condition his Dad's house is in or his brother's apartment. There have been dozens of homes destroyed right in their ward boundaries and we are still waiting to hear really just what the impact has been and who has and has not lost their homes. Many of our friends too have been evacuated and their homes are still in danger. It's so crazy that this is happening. I wish the fires could just get contained and the wind would stop blowing! But for now all we can do is pray. Please keep all these families in Southern California in your prayers too! We'll let you know if we get any more information.

I appreciate the new, you know you feel bad for what is going on, but when you actually know people it is worse. My Aunt went to visit her husband, and she is stuck out there and can't get her close or anything, and they were lucky enough to get a hotel.
I also wanted to let you know how cute your little guy is. I am glad that everything worked out for you guys and you are cute parents. Hope all is well and we miss you guys, and miss our old ward.

so crazy...dan i hope that your dad's house is okay! my parents and sister were evacuated from scripps, but were just allowed to go back...so hopefully they have the fires contained now! so scary...
So glad to hear you guys are okay, I have been thinking about you all day long. We will keep you and Dan's family in our prayers. I hope the fires are contained soon and hopefully no more damage is done, especially to your friends and family. We'll keep you in our prayers!
Just a quick update - I just found out that my dad is returning home, and his house is safe. Both my parents' homes were fortunate enough to have been spared. We're still not certain the condition of my brother's apartment in RB, but will let everyone know for sure once we know ourselves. Our hearts go out to all those whose family, friends and neighbors were affected by this tragedy. God bless.
How is steves place? Let us know b/c we have baby boy stuff if they need, toys, etc. SO glad the rest of your fam was lucky enough to return to their houses still standing.
