Colorado: The Cabin and the Lake

Being out in the back yard at the cabin is the best. So quiet, no one around as far as the eye can see. Just so peaceful and serene.

Cal found our old tire swings and rope swings back there and thought they were great.

He loved just running around in his sorta ghetto, too-short overalls looking for chipmunks (or just "munks" as he calls them), playing with sticks, throwing rocks, and just getting generally very very dirty.

Oh and occasionally bossing us around :)

We also found this sweet baby bird in the yard that had fallen out of its tree and its parents were hovering close by trying to protect it. It was really amazing to watch them rescue it.

My sister Amy came over for one weekend while we were there and we had so so so much fun seeing her. We did lots of hiking, eating yummy chili and carmel popcorn, and more relaxing.

But he got a little tired

Cal also decided he LOVED Pooh Bear while we were there and I think he watched it with us like 20 times.

We went down by the lake a couple times to fish, swim, and lay out.

Cal loved playing in the water. Even if it is snow runoff. Brrrrr.....

And have I ever mentioned how much Cal loves to race??! He just loves it.

And of course we had more stops at the Vallecito Market for Ice Cream and other yummy treats.

And enjoyed the gorgeous Daisy field right behind it.
