We had such a fun 4th of July this year! My Mom and Don came over from Phoenix for the weekend to visit and we had a good time showing them around San Diego a bit and just relaxing. On the 4th of July we went down to Encinitas for a great lunch at Beachside Bar & Grill (one of Dan's favorites really close to his work), then we walked around Encinitas a little and of course took a stroll through Hansen's to see their great weeekend sale. Then we walked over to the Meditation Gardens a couple blocks away from Dan's work. These gardens are just amazingly beautiful and what is also so cool about them is that Dan had taken me there the day he proposed to me but we haven't been back together since. So that was really fun. Mom and Don loved them and the views of the ocean were truly magnificent. Afterwards we went to the Outlets and shopped for awhile which was great--lots of good deals! :) Sadly we didn't go see any fireworks....probably the first time in a very long time we haven't seen them, but Cal was pretty pooped as were the rest of us, so we sat this one out. But we had a great time teaching Mom and Don Settlers instead and began our weekend long extravaganza of Settlers playing!
On Saturday after the 4th we had kinda a bum day because as bad luck would have it...Mom and Don's car got towed. No fun, whatsoever.....but once we recovered from that frustration we had a great time walking around Oceanside, strolling the Pier, taking pictures, and enjoying Coldstone. All in all it was a great weekend and we're so glad my parents were able to come over and enjoy the long weekend with us. Cal had so much fun with his Grandma A--he really just loves her so much. I think it's because she talks to him so cute and plays with him so fun. We can't wait to see you guys again in August!!

I love all the new posts! Ash, you look totally hot! I saw all the pics that Lex took of your family and I am still in awe, they were absolutely gorgeous.
Cal is always dressed super cute! Who says boy shopping isn't as fun as girls - actually it really isn't :) as I am experiencing right now but you do a good job dressing him! And that pier picture makes me want to be there so bad! I can almost feel that soft breeze and smell the air!
