November was a good month. Dan started his new job and things got off to a great start. We started the long process of house hunting, which we are still in the thick of and will be for who knows how long. But exciting none the less! I got super busy with photography again and so life got a bit more chaotic than normal and seems like it hasn't slowed down at all! But that's a blessing and something I really enjoy. So I am very grateful.
Here are just a few random pics of the boys from the beginning of November one Saturday evening.
They are the best of buds. Cal just adores his Daddy.
And I had to get one in there of Dan with his girl too! :)
Cal is SUPER into lizards and rubber animals and stuffed animals of all sorts right now. He got this little pack of lizards at the store for a couple bucks and they have been his pride and joy. He takes them everywhere and love lining them up all over the place. I think Cruiser has eaten one (don't ask how I came to that conclusion....let's just say pooper scooper duty was pretty yuck that day. haha.), and one has had its legs amputated now, but all in all, they are still kickin around. I love how 2 dollar toys are sometimes just what kids love the most.
For Christmas Cal got a whole other set of rubber lizards, spiders, sting rays, snakes, etc. and he is in love with those too. Papa Updike has added a couple more too from little surprise packages he's sent, so Cal has quite the little collection now. He sleeps with them all along with his bears, puppies, and stuffed dinos and carries the whole slew of them back and forth all over the house all day long. It is the most hilarious thing to watch. It's so funny how kids just hit an age where toys become so much more meaningful and personal. He'll go to watch a movie and stop me before we start because he needs to get all his "animal friends" to snuggle with on the couch. :)
We decorated early for Christmas this year since we knew Thanksgiving weekend was going to be a busy one. We always love decorating for Christmas and it was actually so fun enjoying all the fun decor for an extra week. Cal loved it all and had such a good time helping us this year.
We scored our tree on Craigslist for what turned out to be only $50. 9 foot pre-lit. Awesome. We were stoked.
Over Thanksgiving my Dad and his wife Julie came over from Utah for a visit. It was so fun seeing them and we had a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner at our house together. Sadly, I was so stressed making the whole dinner for the first time ever, that I didn't snap a single picture on Thanksgiving Day....but the food was delicious nevertheless. :) We got to go to the Zoo with Papa Updike and Julie, ate at Anthony's downtown, watched the BYU game, and played some quarter black jack back at our house. My Dad is so great with the kids and Cal just adores him. I love getting to see them together. We had so much fun visiting and can't wait until their next trip down here! We already miss them.

Cal with Papa and Julie

Cal was pretty tired from no nap and loved snuggling Julie for a bit. He sure knows a Grandma when he sees one!

And Papa with Scarlett all ready for bed. :)

I love how similar our boys are. Zane insists on carrying around what seems like every toy he owns. He is especially into lining them all up. Hopefully our boys will live closer to each other one day :)
Looks like you had a great holiday!!
I love your cute family, and your photography!
Okay, so I figure I need to start documenting the fact that I have a child. I thought that to do that, I could start taking pictures of him.....I've been gifted $500 for a camera that will get the job done, that I can keep forever and always get a great shot (because I don't have your gift)....any suggestions?
my email is remilundeen@gmail if you have a sec to let me know. thanks ash!
Love the recap! I can't believe how much those two look alike! Cute family!
Cal has such a cute smile. Love him. I didn't even notice Dan the in that first 'Christmas Decorating' picture...he blended right in!
